The Monthly Coaching bridge

The Monthly Coaching bridge

The Monthly Coaching bridge holds your client accountable for achieving their goals. The content is generic in nature as you will tailor the coaching you're providing to each client. Utilise resources and content from other areas of the portal to meet the needs of the specific client.

Important info
We recommend delivering virtual Monthly Coaching sessions if meeting face-to-face is difficult.

To access the Monthly Coaching bridge, go to Navigation panel >  Bridges > Monthly Coaching bridge.

Understanding the Monthly Coaching process

Monthly Coaching is one of the many ways to provide ongoing reporting and accountability for your clients - as part of the Business Advisory Trifecta .

Accountability is an essential tool to ensure success; Decisions X Actions X  Accountability  = Results.  Monthly Coaching allows clients to fast-track their results or learning; whatever their objectives. It is designed for the client to drive the coaching agenda, with the facilitator utilising Gap content based on the client's needs.
  1. The Process Guide outlines best practice use of the content in the Monthly Coaching bridge; click the Download Process Guide button in the top right-hand corner to view this guide.

Note
Ensure you review the Process Guide prior to using the content in the bridge.
Important info
Monthly  Coaching  is a great accountability framework for clients seeking general progress, or to support the implementation of a specific plan.

Marketing the Monthly Coaching service

There are many ways to actively market the Monthly Coaching service, including:
  1. Discussing your Monthly Coaching service as part of a CCR, PAM or Annual Accounts Review Meeting.
  2. Discussing who will hold your client accountable for achieving their goals during a Business Planning or Succession Planning session.
  3. Sending out relevant educational marketing content to your database to subtly position the value of a Monthly Coaching.
    1. Go to Navigation panel Marketing The Gap + BOMA > The Gap + BOMA Content Library Catalogue  to check out our education marketing content ready for you to send via BOMA
  4. Hosting one of our Gap Webinars or Seminars to generate interest in your Monthly Coaching service.
    1. Check out our Reclaiming your Time webinar, go to Navigation panel Bridges > Gap Webinars and Seminars > Reclaiming your Time

The Monthly Coaching proposals

There are four proposals in the Monthly Coaching bridge; one is for the standalone service and the others for Monthly Coaching combined with other services (to fast track the implementation of a plan). Only send a proposal for services you have gained conceptual agreement for.
  1. Consider the client's unique situation and use the checkboxes to select the objectives, measures of success and value to the client; add bespoke objectives, measures of success and points of value to reflect the client's individual needs
  2. If your client does not accept within seven days, call them to follow up
For more information, see our Using proposals article.

Tip
Carefully read through the objectives,  measures of success and values to better understand the types of problems this service will help solve for your clients.

Delivering the Monthly Coaching sessions

Client Outcomes

By attending the Monthly Coaching sessions, clients will:
  1. Have accountability and support from their coach - helping them achieve their desired results
  2. Determine a process to report their actual results against their budget
  3. Gain an understanding of the key drivers within their business and what impacts them
  4. Understand the impact of ideas prior to implementing them within the business
  5. Access the collective wisdom of your accountants, systems, products and services
  6. Increase profitability, cashflow and business performance

Service duration

Each monthly coaching session takes one hour.

Tip
Scheduling monthly sessions on a standardised day each month, e.g. 10am on the third Tuesday of each month, will help your client get into the coaching rhythm and enable automatic session scheduling (on a recurring appointment basis).

The service

You will facilitate 12 coaching sessions over the period of one year.  Prior to each session, you'll provide pre-work to be completed that will set the theme for each session and enable you to prepare accordingly.

At each coaching session  you'll go through the client's financial information, completed pre-work and resources you provide, recording notes and actions in the Meeting Minutes or 30 Day Action Plan.

Note
Using the 30 Day Action Plan is optional. Depending on the type of coaching you're doing with your client, you may choose to only use the Meeting Minutes to record the client's actions.
Important info
We recommend enforcing a 'no pre-work, no meeting' policy. Politely discuss the benefit of pre-work and reschedule the meeting so it does not become one of discovery.

Note
There are no Delivery Notes in this bridge as the content will be specific to the type of coaching you are providing to each client.
