The 10 Hats Workshop Tri-series bridge

The 10 Hats Workshop Tri-series bridge

The 10 Hats Workshop Tri-series bridge allows you to leverage your time by delivering workshops to 15-20 clients at a time. Over the three workshops, attendees will discover the 10 hats organisation structure and develop their organisation chart, build job descriptions for each role in their business, and develop a plan to roll out their new structure and maximise team performance.

To access the 10 Hats Workshop Tri-series bridge, go to Navigation panel > Bridges > 10 Hats Workshop Tri-series.

Tip
Hosting workshops leverages your time to deliver a lower-cost but still high-touch service that provides your attendees with enduring value and appreciation for how you can support your client.
Attention
These workshops should only be delivered by experienced facilitators. Flexibility in the delivery of these workshops is required and the Delivery Notes are designed as a guide only. You must be confident in amending the workshops to suit the clients attending.

Understanding the 10 Hats Workshop Tri-series process

One-to-many workshops are an efficient way of delivering services and offer an opportunity for clients who might not have the cash available to undertake a one-to-one service. The 10 Hats Workshop Tri-series leverages the Organisational Review service. Delivered over three sessions, the workshops cover the principles, fundamentals and big picture of an organisation structure; enabling attendees to build theirs and work toward maximising their team's performance.

  1. Clearly define the structure of their business
  2. Understand the key functions within their business and who should be responsible for them
  3. Provide clarity for their team around their roles, responsibilities, and career development opportunities
  4. Gain clarity on what functions can be outsourced
  5. Free up time for them to concentrate on revenue-generating activities
  6. Form a support network with non-competing business owners

Service duration

Each monthly workshop takes approximately 3.5 hours (or a half-day). Workshops are held monthly over three months.

The service

An experienced facilitator will deliver each session to 15-20 attendees at a venue with sufficient space for all attendees to be in one room.

Prior to the initial workshop, attendees will complete a Participant Profile. These will be collated and provided to attendees at the first workshop. This allows everyone to get to know each other and a little about their businesses and provides contact details for the group to form a network and stay in touch.

Pre-work
Prior to each session, you will send attendees pre-work to complete. The Workshop 1 Pre-work helps attendees prepare for the initial workshop by asking questions about the hats they are currently wearing, accountability lines, job descriptions and leadership.

The Pre-work for the remaining workshops establishes attendee progress on homework between workshops and provides an opportunity to submit questions for discussion.

PowerPoint Templates
Each workshop has an optional PowerPoint template. These contain placeholders so everyone is clear on what they're working on. The facilitator may prefer to use flipcharts on their own and not use the PowerPoints.

Delivery Notes
The Delivery Notes act as a guide to how you could deliver each workshop. It's essential the facilitator is comfortable with making changes to the agenda and format based on the needs of the attendees.

Workbooks
There's a workbook template available for each workshop. Download these from the portal and add your branding before providing to attendees at each workshop.

Homework
Following each session, you will send attendees a Homework Email with a template attached for them to complete before the next workshop.
  1. The Workshop 1 Homework Email has an Organisation Chart template attached
  2. The Workshop 2 Homework Email has a Job Description Template attached
  3. The Workshop 3 Homework Email has a zipped folder with the Performance Review Pre-work Template and Team Member Weekly Report Template attached

Delivering the Job Description Development service

Some attendees might struggle to develop the job descriptions for all of the roles in their business and will need help to develop and finalise them. There is a Job Description Development Proposal and Delivery Notes in the Delivery folder. Attendees will have the option to request the proposal in their feedback.

The Job Description Development service is likely to be delivered over two half-day sessions. During the first session, you'll review the Job Description Template and work with the client to create the job descriptions. It's likely you'll be able to develop them for a few roles, but not all of them. Depending on the number of roles in the business, the client might need to draft job descriptions for some or all of the remaining roles between the sessions. During the second session, you'll review the job descriptions the client drafted, develop them for any outstanding roles and determine the next steps for the client to take to roll out the new job descriptions to their team.

Reviewing your 10 Hats Workshop Tri-series service

Feedback forms should be provided to attendees at the end of the final workshop. Ensure you've set aside five minutes for them  to complete their feedback form. Use the client's feedback to refine your delivery, and potentially create a testimonial to be included in your marketing.
